The Kia Telluride’s Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) technology is designed to enhance driver and passenger safety by actively monitoring the road ahead. If the system detects an imminent collision and the driver does not respond in time, it can autonomously apply the brakes to prevent or mitigate the impact. This feature particularly benefits urban environments with frequent intersections and potential cross-traffic scenarios.
The Kia Telluride’s Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) is a safety feature designed to help drivers when reversing by detecting approaching vehicles from the left or right. If an oncoming vehicle is detected, the system provides visual and audible alerts to the driver. In certain situations, RCCA can also apply the brakes automatically to prevent a potential collision. This feature enhances driver confidence and safety, especially when backing out parking spaces or driveways.
The Kia Telluride’s Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) system enhances driver awareness by monitoring areas alongside and behind the vehicle that may not be visible to the driver. If a vehicle is detected in these blind spots, the system provides visual and/or auditory alerts to help warn the driver. Additionally, when equipped with the available Parallel Exit feature, BCW can also provide alerts while exiting a parallel parking spot, further assisting in preventing potential collisions.
The Kia Telluride’s Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2) is an advanced driver-assistance system that combines features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist to maintain a set distance from the vehicle ahead and keep the Telluride centered in its lane on the highway. An enhancement over the previous version, HDA 2 includes capabilities such as assisting with lane changes, further reducing driver workload during highway travel. This system leverages radar and LiDAR technology to detect lane markings and surrounding vehicles, promoting a safer and more comfortable driving experience.
The Kia Telluride’s Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go (NSCC) uses real-time navigation data to adjust speed for upcoming curves or speed limit changes. The Stop & Go feature allows the vehicle to slow down, stop, and resume speed with traffic flow, enhancing convenience in congested conditions.
