The 2024 Kia Sorento is equipped with Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) with Parallel Exit, a smart safety feature that helps prevent side collisions and enhances driver confidence. Using rear corner radar sensors, the system monitors the vehicle’s blind spots and issues visual and audible alerts if another vehicle is detected. If the driver attempts a lane change while a vehicle is in the blind spot, BCA can apply differential braking to help steer the Sorento back into its lane. The Parallel Exit function adds an extra layer of protection when exiting a parallel parking space by detecting vehicles approaching from the rear sides and, if necessary, automatically applying the brakes to prevent or reduce the severity of a collision. This technology is part of Kia’s Drive Wise suite, offering a more secure and assisted driving experience.
